Inturist is the alter ego of Russian artist Evgeny Gorbunov, who constantly moves around the world, drawing inspiration from its incredible absurdity. Inturist’s work is rooted in the idea that all music is, at its core, improvisation — the only difference lies in how long the artist spends creating something out of nothing, or rather, from a superficial understanding of the surrounding reality available to him.

After all, it is within the most boring, banal, and everyday things that something completely opposite is often reflected: inexpressible feelings and indescribable visions. This is how Inturist ventures into the unknown — by walking along entirely obvious paths. Let’s call it l'opera trivial.

In this paradoxical approach, the tension between the real and the ephemeral reaches its limit—even in the most delicate compositions, something begins to break through and take over the room.

In the program Souvenirs and Delights, Inturist, like a magician, pulls from his hat the most unnecessary — and therefore absurd — judgments, dressed up in jazz, then in new age, then in a kind of punk or chanson, all generously seasoned with improvisation.
