OH NON is a quintet at the crossroads of genres, they offer a modern reading of alternative rock from the 70s and 80s and offbeat French song (Boris Vian, Brigitte Fontaine, Stéréo Total, B52’s, Pixies). With a large universe, endowed of its own logic and symbols, the insolence, nonchalance and vulnerability lurking in each of us come to light. The pieces confess certain urban and metaphysical anxieties, between mockery and diving out of oneself. The lyrics, all in French, take an ironic look at society, the party scene and relationships with others. Being a part of the French musical ecosystem without really knowing where to fit, OH NON brings together various audiences made up of the grumpiest and the bashful around values of sharing and inclusivity. From buzzing, to scat, from noise, from screams to melody, here we return from the past to go through the present.
