Tempesst LIVE in 8MM Bar 12th May

When it comes to writing and releasing a record, Tempesst ensure they’re at the heart of the entire process. The five- piece psych-rock band formed in East London by Australian twin brothers Toma and Andy Banjanin, and once here, they set up their own label, recording studio and artistic space that is now home to a thriving artistic community in Hackney. From writing the songs to recording the music, making the videos and ordering the vinyl, Tempesst do it all themselves.

The band – which also comprises guitarist Eric Weber, bass player Blake Misipeka and keyboardist Kane Reynolds established Pony Recordings in 2018 along with some analogue recording studios in an old shoe warehouse in Hackney. That space soon grew, and the building became home to a thriving community of artists, musicians and producers with over 50 residents in 2023.
