Fantasy Fiction Records are super excited to present a listening party for our newest release 'Won for the Heart' from Hwoarang. This will be the first chance for people to listen to the album in full. A limited number of lathe cut vinyls will also be availible for sale on the night. The party will be held at 8MM bar and will be followed by Fantasy Fiction DJs plus two of our all time Berlin favourites Alicia Carrera (Lio Press) and Menqui (Rio Records) .

The listening will commence at 9.pm - Free Entrance

'Won For The Heart' is the first release from Peter Mangan’s
(The Wanderer // co-founder of 8MM and production collective - Salon
Oblique in Berlin) recording project ‘Hwoarang’.

"Drawing influence from the neo futurist sounds of artists such as James Ferraro, Sun Araw and Lee Gamble. Hwoarang's debut is a journey record, one for contemplation.

Concieved during the first enforced lock-down period of 2020, the album is the result of some years worth of musical ideas and sketches, molded and distilled into their current forms. The electric guitar taking the main focal point in the compositions.

Martial arts sounds and themes weave their way through the tracks, and along with its psychedelic, cinematic passages, makes for a record that wouldn't sound out of place soundtracking a lost Hong Kong neon noir film."
